Hippocampus runs a library for children, under 12 years. The library has over 6000 books, predominantly in English; CDs and DVDs for borrowing, and a home theatre and computers for in-house use. The library doubles up as an activity centre for its members. Hippocampus has a range of monthly activities for its members such as magic shows, story-telling, and cycle rallies to spread social awareness. It also encourages its members to develop their own programmes. To help children develop hobbies, Hippocampus plans to organise six clubs: "adventure, cycling, cooking, journalism, music, art, nature" for children above seven years. For an additional annual fee, members can join the clubs that are conducted by experienced resource people. The clubs will meet periodically during the weekend. For children 3-5 and 4-7, there are the baby hippo and junior hippo clubs respectively; where reading will form the central activity accompanied by other activities. Children will be encouraged to form their own clubs in tune with their interests. Hippocampus is open to working with NGOs in organising recreational and sensitisation programmes.
