It runs special clinics for children with congenital disorders, asthma and chest illnesses, cerebral palsy and polio, and also has an infant stimulation programme. It provides 24-hour trauma and emergency services, including an emergency child care helpline - Paediatric All-night Counselling and Treatment (PACT)*; an ambulance pick-up for newborn and critically ill children; and an all-night pharmacy. It offers free outpatient and concessionary in-patient treatment for needy children. It also runs a rural child health centre at Ramanagaram. It has an early intervention and learning disability centre for children with developmental disabilities at Malleswaram, which offers speech therapy and physiotherapy. It has a laboratory school for cognitive disabilities. It organises seminars, lectures and symposia on child health care for doctors and parents, and undertakes research on paediatric diseases. It offers counselling, and holds workshops for parents. It has an art and recreation therapy centre, the Children's Art Foundation, which conducts workshops and programmes that provide opportunities for children to explore various means of self-expression and alternative modes of healing. It plans to promote and research alternative therapies including dance, movement and group therapy.
