Dr Srikala Bharath is a child and adolescent psychiatrist at NIMHANS*. She works with children at high risk, including biological, medical and social risk. This includes street children, children of parents with alchoholism or mental illness, children with cerebral palsy, autism, or cancer. She is a consultant for the Spastics Society of Karnataka*, and meets once a month with its teachers and parents. Adolescent sexuality is one of her specific areas of interest, and she conducts an orientation on sexuality for pre-pubescent children with cerebral palsy. She coordinates a life skills programme initiated by NIMHANS in two schools.
