Ms Shalini Panjabi is a sociologist whose M Phil thesis examined the notion of `Education as History' with a specific study of the introduction of western education to 19th century Bengal. She is currently completing her doctoral theses, `An enthnographic study of a primary school with a focus on curriculum, classroom practices, and educational policy'.
