BGVS works in every zilla of the state, and has a 30-member resource team. It works mainly with rural primary schools. For children, it organises summer camps and Joy of Learning chinnaramelas, to promote activity based learning in science, language and health, through songs and plays. It also works with children through the DPEP*. For teachers, it offers training in the joyful learning approach towards language and science, and teaches them how to use locally available materials. For the public, it regularly organises jathas covering thousands of villages, on themes from literacy to the girl child. It also has low-cost publications on science, in Kannada.
