Ashalaya runs a school for children with mental retardation which offers an early intervention programme; and academics, vocational training, speech therapy, physiotherapy, yoga and sports. It also organises annual talent exhibitions and summer camps. It runs a residential centre which provides temporary and long term shelter, academics and vocational training. It has a sheltered workshop for adolescents, and group homes for those with independent living skills. It offers counselling and guidance for parents and children. It also has an evening study centre for normal, disadvantaged children.
