TPF is a group of child care specialists. It works with schools, non-formal education centres and NGOs to implement programmes for children, adolescents and their care takers. It has a Stimulation Intervention Programme (SIP) for children between 0-6 years that uses a multiple intelligence stimulation plan to provide a range of experiences. This programme is in use at its pre-school centre, Shishu Kendra, and in other creches, aganwadis, balwadis and non-formal centres. For primary school drop-outs from government and corporation schools, it has a Programme for Assisted Learning. It identifies children who perform poorly in studies and provides enriched stimulation that lays the foundation for learning skills. It offers counselling for children with emotional problems, dyslexia and learning difficulties. It trains teachers in the SIP and is on the core team of the UNICEF-DSERT* early childhood education (ECE) curriculum development project for Karnataka. It has an employment awareness programme, Work Awareness and You, for high school children. It offers career counselling and aptitude testing. For economically disadvantaged youth who fare poorly in their high school finals, it offers a Self Efficacy Training programme, with opportunities to develop skills and enhance employment potential.
