ActionAid India is an international development organisation with its headquarters in London. It works in more than 30 developing countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America. It has seven regional offices in India, and its headquarters at Bangalore. ActionAid India provides financial, managerial and technical support to 200 partner NGOs across the country reaching 7.5 lakh people. Its focus areas are health, education, livelihood and human rights. In the area of education, it supports pre-school interventions to improve the psychological and physical growth of the child; elementary education, with a special focus on the girl child; and non-formal education for school drop-outs. It is involved in advocacy work in collaboration with other NGOs to abolish child labour in agriculture and hazardous industries. It also has a Disability Division that works in partnership with 15 NGOs, each of which cover over 150 villages. It provides technical, training, and managerial support to these partner organisations to develop community-based rehabilitation (CBR) services for persons with disability, especially from socio-economically disadvantaged sections of society. Its Programme Support Division is involved in policy and strategy development, capacity building, research and documentation, and advocacy and networking, in all its focus areas. It also works towards building links between the corporate and development sector through its Corporate Partnerships Division.
